Centrifugal Water Pump

Pump Design & Fabrication

The pump was designed using Creo Parametric, and consists of four main components: the outlet housing, inlet housing, impeller, and bolts. The impeller was 3D printed with a built-in shaft, and friction fit inside the outlet housing and onto the motor shaft. The housing components were all 3" x 3" blocks of HDPE. The pump is held together sealed with the four bolts. The inlet and outlet holes were hand-tapped, and the nozzles were tightened in.

The water pump was able successfully transfer water without any leaking, with a flow rate of 3.125 Liters/min.
